Students,

This is your chance to write Ms. Bulion a note about what you learned about being a writer or what you learned about the poems that she writes. But, most of all, we want to thank her for sharing her time with us.

She will be able to read your thoughts, so remember, she is a writer and appreciates other writers who pay attention to word choice, ideas, organization and also conventions so she can understand you clearly.

Enjoy corresponding with our new buddy that we met through the World Read Aloud Day Celebration!

Here is a transcript of my response to her:
Dear Ms. Bulion,

I'm looking forward to sharing this video and the links with the students when they get back from PE. Thank you SOOO much for sharing your time and passion for writing, learning and making up new words with us!! We loved how you let us know about collaboration (How your friend gave you the idea for the end of the Bombadier poem) and how the editing process goes on and on.

I'm not sure if you noticed, but a few people were really pumped when you decided to read "Party Poppers" since that was one of their favorites. We also LOVED the octopus poem since I told the students about traveling to Korea and watching a different kind of octopus use its suckers to crawl out of a kiddie pool-like container at the Busan Fish Market. This was all leading to a personal narrative lesson about "show, not tell" writing.

Thank you again!!Ms. Frens

Here is a transcript of a recent email received from Leslie Bulion after we Skype interviewed with her:
